![]() ![]() I had a chat on the Joomla forums regarding setting file and folder permissions for when I publish sites live (for some reason in linux I need to change the permissions to allow "akeeba kickstart" which is a joomla file unpacker, to work properly) I do however have a query regarding security settings, which we looked at earlier in this thread. You can do it via terminal but as i wrote above it is simpler (to me) to just use phpmyadmin. Or, is there a ubuntu way to do it that works better? i used it here as well since with a good GUI i don't really need to read a lot of documentation to use the mysql. i think it is in software center/repositories. Would you advise that I install it as in this link here At the moment I don't seem to have phpmyadmin. I would then use this info in the joomla installation. Now in the past (again Win XP) I would go into phpmyadmin and create a database and password. if you only use it for developing
